16 Week Appt

I had to go to my 16 week doctors appointment by myself cause has his EIB training (Expert Infantry Badge) this will be very good for his career, unfortunately all the training is taking place most of the time until we leave for Oregon.  Bummer!

This Doc appointment I got so much stuff done! I was very proud and accomplished!  I talked to the doc about switching care while I'm in Oregon.  So he gave me directions to the medical records to get a hold of all of those, I will need my OB flow charts, blood tests, and ultrasound chart to be able to have care at the Women Health Center of Oregon in Oregon city.  I got half of my stuff yesterday and scheduled my ultrasound for July 1st at 11 AM.  I'm so excited for it and Nik will defiantly be there.

Well actually Dr Shahan scheduled my ultrasound because I have been frustrated with the care I have been receiving and all the phone tag games on the phone.  I politely told him about my frustration and said I really feel like no one cares I'm just in and out as quick as you can, which for this being my first pregnancy makes me a little nervous.  I'm so glad that he was able to help me and understand.  He also got me all set up for my WIC program as well.  So I'm very thankful.

After I got the records I had to go to the lab for more blood tests, I got the quad scan??! Not sure what the genetic testing thing is called exactly.  I'm doing it more so for the chance of anything being wrong and if there is further testing need I will have to think about it.  I don't want to have the needle stuck into my stomach that really freaks me out!  I just want to know what the chances are if I have to prepare for anything.  Like I have been saying this whole time I am happy and healthy and I know nothing will go wrong.

Once my blood was taken I was about ready to pass out I was busy at the hospital for 2.5 hours I needed food!  I was getting a hunger headache and it didn't help that the doc also told me I had a ruptured blood vessel at the back of my skull and neck.  This had been the reason for me having a headache for days on end.  I had been soaking in the hot shower to help my neck but he told me icing would be better and he sure was right.  I have been icing it all the time and feels great, I just want it to vanish soon.  I ate in the cafeteria at the hospital and finally was able to drive home well to base to pick up Nik.

All the running around the hospital I was so tired and poor Nik had done land navigation all day with a 45lb sack on his back so he was pooped too.  We didn't even eat dinner just shower and to bed.  It was a good day tho and now I'm just looking forward to our Ultrasound in July!!!!!! yay!!! we are going to find out the sex and finally pick some names out.  God is good to us!

15 weeks

Listen up: Tiny bones in your fetus's ears are in place this week, making it likely that the baby can hear your voice when you're speaking (or singing in the shower). In fact, studies have found that babies who are sung to while they're in the womb recognize the same tune when it's sung to them after they are born (so choose your baby Muzak with that in mind…).

And baby's busily boning up in other ways. For one, the backbone (along with the back muscles) is stronger now — strong enough, in fact, to enable your baby to work on straightening his or her head and neck even more. Baby's crown-to-rump measurement is between four and five inches in length, and weight is hovering around three ounces.

This little one's a looker — with a face that has both eyebrows and eyelashes — but a skinny looker since there's no baby fat yet. And here's the skinny on baby skin: It's practically translucent now, so if you took a peek inside your uterus, you'd be able to see your baby's blood vessels under that thin skin.

I know that it's not very big but I need to start taking pics to see the difference!! Haha I got alot of space in there! I will prolly not be big until 22-25 weeks. We will see!

Memorial Weekend

Had the Best weekend with my Birthday soldier!! He turned 34 on May 28th and we had a blast.   We went to Hooters for some Fried pickles and now they have been on my brain ever since! I want more of them... like now! If you have never tried them you need to find your local hooters and get on that man!  While at Hooters we watched the UFC fight and ate way to much food! basket of fried pickles, BBQ wings, over 40 baked oysters, and chocolate mousse cake! I was so stuffed.  I know that baby liked it cause I still want more now!

I'm still not gaining any weight I am now 8 lbs below what I'm suppose to be at.  So I started eating some more sugary foods to compensate for the pounds on top of the healthy food.  I'm eating more salad dressings and dips, that are good calories.  I had some whip cream on berries for some added calories.  Nik even got me some tropical sherbet which is yummy.  I'm sure I'll be back on track I would like to not gain as much in the long run.  I'm just shooting for 30lbs total so we will see :)
