Playtime with Mom

Hanging out with mom and the Captain!
He sure loves him, we rearranged our furniture and have an open space on the floor for him to play on also makes it easier for him to watch while mom puts stuff away.  Well I try to!
Don't judge me by this picture, I feel bad I have not posted any of me and toby but I don't like how I currently look.  It's been hard to do anything let alone keep up with style and fashion.  I have been hitting the gym and running, doing Tabata, and balance ball exercises.  Since we have lived in our house I do not keep any sweets, snacks, or junk food so I have been losing more weight.  I'm not losing it as fast as I hoped but I believe by the time he is 6 months I will be to my old self.  Well that is my goal at least, we will see how that works out.

Learning how to play

 So chunky!

He is figuring out how to grab for things and look at the different colors.  He loves his new rattle mama got him, but nothing beats Cap'n Hook! and he still likes looking at his toes especially when he wears his red socks.  He loves the color red! In no time is he going to be sitting up he gets stronger every day! Time is just flying by.

Caught the Thumbsucker!

We went for a walk which he was not happy about. And as I'm crossing the street I look down and catch him in the act. I know he sucks his thumb but I have never really "caught" him. I can hear him do it at night time and when I go to check it's just his WHOLE HAND he is sucking on. But today I got him red handed the little sneak! I don't want this habit to start but what can I do when it's at night time.

What a cutie! I love him so much.

Captain Hook

His most favorite toy! he loves to play with the Cap'n Hook! The look on his face is so funny!  We picked up this toy at the Gift shop on base.  It's a shop were each month items are imported from other countries and this came from Thailand.  It's a reversible doll you flip it over and it is peter pan and tink on the other side.  It has become one of his favorites he stares at it forever.

Little Bear

He is so cute in his little bear suit.  It used to be so big on him but he has sure grown into it.  And just think next week he will be 3 months old and he is wearing all 6-9 month baby stuff.  We have a giant on our hands.
We are getting ready to go out and daddy plays with you while mom gets ready.  Those cheeks look so heavy they may fall off your face!
Sweet baby boy, we love you so very much!

Ruff Day!

He just looked to cute to not take a picture. Look at that adorable hat!
He was not sure how we wanted to start the day sillly boy. He always ends up happy. He did have a "ruff day" yesterday becuase of his shots, but he is all better and back in action.  His balance is getting better and he lifts his head higher each day.  I cannot believe how fast it is going by.  This is the stage that is enjoyable, from about 3 months on is fun.  Newborn is just a lot of work I was not to crazy about the all nighters.  Tobyn sleeps consistently from 7 to 2am which is very nice for mom!

His girlfriend Alyssa came over and she loves to hold him while he loves to look at her.  She will be such a great big sister one day.  She played peek-a-boo and tickle monster with him.  Alyssa really like to pet his soft hair too.  They were so cute together.

My baby boy so sweet to mama.

First Shower with Daddy!

I had to snap these photos.  As I was peeking in on Daddy and Toby because bath time is usually special time daddy has with TK since mommy does all the feeding.  He has such a cute little face I could no resist bugging them for a few sweet photos.
First time in the shower and he loves it! doesn't even mind water splashing is his face.  He is the coolest.
Sweet baby boy!

Shots!

Tobyn went in for his first shots today.  Nik and I were very nervous about it, we just didn't want him to be hurt for a long time and cry.  But it when surprisingly smooth.  He only let out a peep when they had to hold his legs and arms down and once the nurses let go and Daddy picked him up it was like nothing happened.  He was so brave.  We are very proud of him and the nurse gave him 3 Woody from Toy Story bandaids.  They are so cute, you can see them on his legs but not very well he was too squirmy.

Once we got home though it was a different story.  The Doctor told us that he may have a fever and feel warm, but nothing to be alarmed about.  He was not a happy camper, I'm not sure if he was just tired from being out of the house for 5 hours or his shot locations were sore or if he just was sick from his little fever but the kid was out by 6:30 and didn't wake up until 6 when daddy left for work.  I fed him some pumped milk with vitamins and baby Tylenol then he passed out again until 10.  I think the fever was kicking his tushie cause I fed him again and he was out like a light until 1:30 in the afternoon.  Once he woke up this time he was all smiles.

He feels so much better, and we had a great time playing until Daddy got home.  It's so horrible to see him unhappy but I do love all the cuddle time in bed with him.  He is such a great boy could not ask for a better son.

Talking to Mom

He is talking to mamma.  Every morning he is all smiles and words.  I try to carry on a conversation with him using some baby talk and real words.  I find when I copy the noises he makes he rambles on for a long time.  Guess he likes the sound of his own voice.
Each day he gets new noises and more range of pitch.  When he cried cause he has got a bubble in his tummy it's more of a high pitch whimper.  Its defiantly getting easier to tell whats wrong with him at this point.
He has become so much more fun now that he likes to sit up and observe.  It's not so hard on us that he just cries or sleeps.  We even put him in his chair on the dining table while we eat and he just watches us.  He just wants to be apart of the group.
He moves his lips in crazy ways to make sounds.  I'm so proud of him.  He is so smart already and he is not even 3 months old. Whenever he wears clothes that have animals as the feet he likes to sit in his chair and talk to them.  So cute.  I want him to stay this little forever (only if he can sleep through the night though) haha we are still working on that one.

Tobyn's First Chair

I'm not to sure how much sitting he will be doing as much as leaning, but he loves it!  He was tired of mom holding him up.  He almost looks to big for it already, he is going to be a large boy. Mom is happy for the chair too so she can actually have him watch her WHILE she cleans up the house!

Now that he sits up he has more time to explore his hands, he loves eating them while looking at his feet.  He is so cute soon he will be able to sit up right but in the mean time he is getting such a workout.  He is working all those muscles to sit up like a big boy.  I can't believe how fast he is growing!

Thanks Leslie for letting us borrow it until your new bundle arrives!!

Streets of Itaewon

The road to Itaewon.  The very short walk to the main strip of the city.  We have to go through our back yard here tot he right.  and then pass through a secured gate/box/finger scan booth.  Very secure to get in and out which is very reassuring, but it doesn't work properly so we always have to call ourselves in.  Then up the back alley which looks like garbage alley! Then onto the main road through town.  It's a very simple walk you could even walk to the 2 miles to base if you really wanted a good workout.  What is so crazy to see is all the stairs going to other streets the terrain here is so vast.  From just our window on the 12th floor you can see cars eye level with you about 2 football fields away.  Very good for exercise.  Anyways we will keep you updated on cool  places we visit.  There is a cute little tea place and also a German restaurant that the inside fully looks like the motherland. Can't wait to explore!

All Settled In!

Finally in our new home!! And it is beautiful!  All new appliances and furniture!  We are very lucky we got to pick what place we wanted for on post housing.

Long kitchen with many overhead cabinets and even a dish washer have not had one of those in a long time! The best part is we do not have to pay for electricity or gas, so we can run dishes and laundry 24/7!

Full size fridge beside washer and dryer the only thing I don't like is it's all in the kitchen but then again I am going to be the one doing it so it's not that bad.

view from front door, a new cherry wood 6 person dining table has to be my favorite piece it has two leafs so that table can get huge stretchs almost to the couch!

Tobyns bathroom with great fixtures and water pressure and it even has a safety feature that you have to press a button and turn the nob for the water to get over 38 degree C. comes in handy with a little one.

Toby's room and the gues room are the same twin bed and 6 drawer dresser in each along with the wall closet.

Master room with his and her closets, I LOVE IT! I get my own closet space!

Our bathroom crazy thing here is a Korean style shower the drain is in the middle of the floor so you just stand there and go for it. it will be very easy to clean!

All in all, we were sad that we could not get off post housing so Nik can be close to work, but I think what we got is pretty good. I'm very thankful.  We are close to Yongsan were we get food and medical and also there is a free bus every where.  Toby and I are still in the city so we can go out and explore.  Also I'm close to a few friends I have made and I hope that I can make plenty more in the army community.  We are so blessed to have this adventure and am looking forward to making this a home!
